Classification of graphite molds according to their use and process

Jul 16, 2025

In recent years, graphite has gradually become a suitable mold manufacturing material due to its excellent physical and chemical properties. Graphite molds have excellent performance characteristics and can be used in many aspects. Let’s take a look at the types of graphite molds and their applications:

Classification of graphite molds according to their uses and processes (Figure 1)

1. Casting molds: used for casting metals and alloys, including continuous casting molds, die casting molds, centrifugal casting molds, isostatic casting molds, etc.

2. Sintering molds: used for sintering of powder metallurgy products, including sintering furnace crystallizers, sintering molds, sintering furnace liners, etc.

3. Hot pressing molds: used for molding hot pressing molded products, including hot pressing furnace molds, hot pressing machine molds, etc.

4. Electronic packaging molds: used for packaging electronic components, including chip packaging molds, ceramic packaging molds, etc.

5. Others: molds used in other industries, such as glass molding molds, chemical molds, mechanical seal molds, etc.

Graphite molds have the advantages of high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, good thermal conductivity, and good self-lubrication, so they are widely used in various industries.
